SUMMARY:Public Hearing on Managed Care Lock-In
DESCRIPTION:Call to Action! We need your voice! \nPublic Hearing: Managed Care Lock-in \nWhen: Wednesday\, August 10\, 2016\, 10:00 A.M. \nWhere: Conference Room on the 21st Floor of the McCormack Building\, One Ashburton Place\, Boston\, MA \nIn January\, EOHHS announced plans to implement a Managed Care lock-in policy effective October 1\, 2016. This will restrict the ability of MassHealth members to freely change managed care plans to a 12 month cycle. This means a person will have a 90 day trial period\, but after that time will be stuck in a plan for an entire year unless they meet exemption criteria! We have learned from One Care that a very high percentage of people who are “passively” enrolled in a plan don’t even know that they are enrolled until 90 after days or more. \nThe public notice\, proposed rules\, current rules\, & a link to sign up to testify are all posted athttp://www.mass.gov/eohhs/gov/laws-regs/masshealth/masshealth-proposed-regs.html

A significant focus will be placed on improving integration and delivery of care for members with behavioral health needs and those with dual diagnoses of substance abuse disorder; as well as integration of long term services and supports and health-related social services. In addition\, MassHealth plans to expand treatment for individuals affected by opioid addiction. \nThe Request does not affect eligibility for MassHealth.  A more detailed public notice can be found at MassHealth’s home page:  http://www.mass.gov/eohhs/gov/departments/masshealth/\, and the Request documents can be found at the MassHealth 1115 demonstration web site: http://www.mass.gov/eohhs/gov/departments/masshealth/masshealth-and-health-care-reform.html. \nPublic Comment Period:  \nEOHHS program staff will host two public listening sessions in order to hear public comments on the Request.
