Throughout the 2026-2027 school year\, students ages 14-21 with disabilities can participate in programs focused on preparing for adulthood\, building independence\, exploring careers\, and developing self-advocacy skills! \nWhether you want to join us every week\, attend an occasional workshop\, work one-on-one towards a goal\, or try something new in the community\, there are lots of ways to get involved!\nRead below to see what is happening for students and families in the month of October! \nThere isn’t just one way to participate. Students can choose the opportunities that make sense for their interest\, goals and schedules. \nOctober Virtual Series: \nVirtual (Zoom) workshop series are focused on the four Pre-ETS core components- Job Exploration\, Work-Readiness Training\, Post-Secondary Education\, Self-Advocacy. Each month\, each core component will feature a different topic. DESCRIPTION:Housing Workshop – In-Person & by Zoom \nJoin3 us on the first and third Wednesday of every month to learn more about and how to apply for affordable housing options in your area. Our knowledgeable staff will answer all your questions and put you on the path to finding the housing that is right for you. \nThis workshop will teach you about:\n• Types of housing available in the Boston area\n• Navigating subsidized and affordable housing\n• Conducting a housing search\n• Communicating with housing authorities\, agencies\, and landlords\n• Completing applications for state voucher programs\n• How to request reasonable accommodations for your disability \nEach workshop will include a period when you can ask questions. \nTo register: email Jackie at jmcglinchey@bostoncil.org with your full\nname and phone number.
