SUMMARY:LET'S TALK!
DESCRIPTION:Do you live in Boston and feel like it’s hard to get access to healthcare\, even MassHealth?\nCome to our LET’S TALK community meeting! \nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87602006726?pwd=YWVkdnRmZUhiRDhxellLVXJOTGlkdz09 \nWe’ll meet on Zoom for a 90-minute meeting to connect over these local issues. On the agenda is: \n–ER & urgent care access – Are you getting good care when you go to the ER and urgent care?\n–COVID/Long COVID – Are you still experiencing effects from COVID? Do you think you have long COVID\nbut are not diagnosed? We’ll talk about your legal rights for getting accommodations at work and in housing.\n–Masking inside Boston Schools – Masking is a big conversation in our city’s school system right now. Let’s talk about masking and what rules would feel safest for your kids.\n–DME / mobility aid access – DME (durable medical equipment – wheelchairs\, canes… anything you use to help you get around) – is usually expensive. Do you need affordable DME or DME repairs?\n–Educational access in Boston Public Schools + mental health diagnosis complications– BPS is meant to train teachers to help students with disabilities and help their families support them. But black and brown kids – young black men especially – are often held back or suspended when they don’t get the help\, they need to focus in class. Not getting mental health support and learning disability diagnosis and treatment keeps people from education. Are you worried this is happening to a child you know? We’ll share our stories with each other and see what needs to be done! \nRegister here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lets-talk-community-meeting-tickets-522962333417 \nADA reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities are available if you request! To submit a request\, contact Noel at nsanders@bostoncil.org or (508)-863-3056. Please give us a description of the support you need with detail. Please allow at least seven days advance notice. Last-minute requests will be considered but harder to fill. \nLet’s Talk! Flyer.docx
