Dear Friend of BCIL:

As you know, BCIL is the key disability rights organization active in the many areas vital to people with disabilities including housing, healthcare, long-term care, transportation, adaptive technology, communications, civil rights law, education and employment. We are asking that you become a dues paying member of BCIL. Being a member is voluntary and would have no effect on the services you receive through BCIL.

The larger our official membership, the more public and elected officials will listen, and the more impact we’ll have when advocating on behalf of all our members – and this directly benefits you. Your membership will support civil rights advocacy and the critical services BCIL provides to assist people with disabilities to live on their own, hire a PCA, get a job, graduate from school, find housing and be active, productive members of their own community. BCIL has recently helped:

Get the City of Boston to commit $15 million dollars to repair curb cuts and architectural barriers, and form a Disability Commission.
Secure the anticipated PCA wage increase through collective bargaining.
Provide over 5,500 people through the year with Direct Services, and the number is growing.
Prevent the Boston Housing Authority from making low-income people with disabilities ineligible for 400 units in elderly-disabled housing developments.
Support ongoing efforts by the MBTA to implement the lawsuit settlement that will bring the public transportation system into compliance with the ADA.

BCIL has been a force in the political and social fabric of our city and state for over thirty years. If you believe there is more work to be done to ensure equality and accessibility for people with disabilities throughout Greater Boston and across Massachusetts, please support our efforts by becoming a dues-paying member. Support Independent Living

The Boston Center for Independent Living (BCIL) urges you to become a dues-paying member. By doing so, you’ll become part of a growing group of people with disabilities and advocates who support BCIL.

Your membership champions BCIL’s crucial work. You will be assisting advocacy efforts for independent living and critical IL services that help people with disabilities live on their own, get a job, graduate from school, and be active, productive members of our community.

All dues and donations are tax-deductible. Dues-paying members are also entitled to attend BCIL's Annual Meeting in November. Please fill out the form below and click Continue.
