Directions to BCIL
The Boston Center for Independent Living is located at the corner of Temple Place and Washington Street across from Macy’s at 60 Temple Place. Below you will find information on public transportation, driving directions, parking availability and Google Maps directions.
Public Transportation
- Red Line
Take the Red Line to Downtown Crossing. Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer Street Walk west toward Macy’s on Washington Street for one block to Temple Place. 60 will be the first building on your right.
- Orange Line
Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing. Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer Street Walk west toward Macy’s on Washington Street for one block to Temple Place. 60 will be the first building on your right.
- Green Line Option 1
Take the Green line to Park Street Exit the Park Street station at Park and Tremont. Cross Tremont St and walk west 1 block to Temple Place. Go Left on Temple Place and walk to the other end. 60 is the last building on your left.
- Green Line Option 2
Take the Green Line to Park Street Switch to the Red line to Downtown Crossing. Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer Street Walk west toward Macy’s on Washington Street for one block to Temple Place. 60 will be the first building on your right.
- Blue Line Option 1
Take the Blue line to State Street Switch to the Orange line to Downtown Crossing. Exits to the streets are located at Washington and Summer Street Walk west toward Macy’s on Washington Street for one block to Temple Place. 60 will be the first building on your right.
- Blue Line Option 2
Exit the Blue line at State and Washington Street and walk west toward Macy’s on Washington Street approximately 5 blocks to Temple Place. Go right on Temple Place and 60 will be the first building on your right.
- Sliver Line
Take the Silver line to Temple Place. The silver line off-loads right in front of 60 Temple Place.
Driving Directions
From the South
- Take Rt. 3/I 93 north to exit 20 Frontage Rd.
- Go 0.6 miles and take left onto E. Berkeley Street
- Go 0.2 miles and turn right onto Washington Street
- Go 0.8 miles.
- Washington Street ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.
- BCIL, 60 Temple, is on the corner of Washington and Temple.
From the North
- Take I 93 or Rt. 1 to I 93 south to exit 208-A onto Purchase Street
- Go 0.4 miles and turn right onto Summer Street
- Go 0.1 miles and turn left onto Bedford Street
- Go 0.1 miles and turn left onto Chauncy Street
- Turn right onto Avenue de Lafayette which is an immediate right.
- At the end turn right onto Washington Street
- Washington Street ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.
- BCIL, 60 Temple, is on the corner of Washington and Temple.
From the West
- Take I 90/Mass Pike east.
- Take exit 22 onto Stuart Street (Rt. 9) (Toward Copley Place).
- Go 1.1 miles and take a left onto Washington Street
- Go 0.3 miles
- Washington Street ends at Temple Place where it becomes the walking area of downtown crossing.
- BCIL, 60 Temple, is on the corner of Washington and Temple.
Parking
There is very little street parking in the area.
On Washington Street, just before you reach Temple Place there is a parking lot on your right across from the Opera House.
Or you could take your left at the parking lot and there is a parking garage at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on your left.
Or you could take the right just after the parking lot and there is the Lafayette Parking garage on your left.
There are a couple of Handicap Parking spots on the corner of Temple and Tremont.
